How to: Relaxing, Shiatsu Facial Massage

Lani with Pure Knead Massage explains how to perform an at-home shiatsu facial to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Do this daily to see maximum results!

Step 1: Start by rubbing your hands together to create friction, or "chi". Once you feel heat building up, place your hands over each eye.

Step 2: Next, take your two index fingers and place them on the area in between your eyebrows and nose. Apply light pressure, and begin making slow, small circles.

Step 3: Follow the outside of the eyebrow with these small circles, applying light pressure until you reach the base of the eyebrow.

Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 across your forehead. Starting at the center of the forehead each time, and moving up and across your face to the hairline with each repetition.

Step 5: Next, start with your two index fingers on each side of the nose, just below the eye socket and begin applying the same light pressure in small, slow circles underneath your eye socket until you reach the base of the brow. Repeat as needed, moving down your face each time, but circling upward towards your brow.

Step 6: For smile lines, start underneath your bottom lip with both index fingers together. Again, apply light pressure and move in slow, small circles up and around your mouth, ending at the nose.

Step 7: For loose jaw skin, begin with your two index fingers together in the center of your chin, and repeat the same circle motion along the edge of your jaw, moving up and towards the base of the brow.

Step 8: To promote blood flow and collagen production, take both hands and move your fingers in a light tapping motion up your face, from chin to forehead. Repeat this step a few times.

Step 9: Finally, repeat step 1, creating heat in your hands and placing them over each eye. Enjoy!
