Recipe | Homemade Bath Salts

An effective bath salt begins with 2 parts Epsom salt, 2 parts kosher salt, and 1 part baking soda. While the skin absorbs the salts to soothe achey muscles and relieve tension, the baking soda softens the effects of the salts and balances your body’s pH.

The best benefits come from adding blends of essential oils to maximize your bath’s healing power. You can choose from a variety of blends, but here’s our favorite for the most relaxing, and pain-relieving experience!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Epsom salt
  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 20 drops essential oils (your choice)

Our favorite blend of essential oils is 10 drops lavender, 5 drops peppermint, and 5 drops of rosemary oil. The combination of these 3 oils provides the ultimate trifecta of anti-inflammatory, analgesic, muscle-relaxing-relief you need to soothe tension, sore muscles, and relieve anxiety.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine salts and soda in a mason jar
  2. Stir in desired essential oils, if using.

Store in cool, dark space. Use about ¼ to ½ cup per bath.

Never underestimate the power of a good bath, especially during the stressful holiday season!
